Hi, id like some advise on buying desktop computers ;)

well i have a budget of £1470 for everything except the keyboard and the mouse(i bought them for 30 pounds :) ), ill only buy parts as my cousins friend said he can build it for me.
i tried looking in OcUK and really i didnt understand the parts :S what im asking for is, somebody to show me all the components i will need for a perfect gamers PC.

as far as i know what im looking for is

-22" screen 1920*1024 and 2 ms respons (if possible)
-hd 4870 X2 2024 MB
-intel i7
-6gb ddr3 1600 MHz
-i dont use so much memory so 500 GB should be enough
-i already found the mouse and the keyboard

and thats it really! id appreciate some help, thank u!

Here you go, only 74pence over :) doesnt include your OS though, you didnt specify if you had one or needed one. The case included is very good, but thats personal choice, some people dont like the look of them, in which case Id look at the Lian Li's if you fall into this category

and about OS im sorry i forgot to mention, no i dont need a OS

and thank you for ur advice those seem really great but i have a few doubts like 1333MHZ normal corsair is it still good? and the optical drive its pretty cheap and it looks like it does the job is there any strings attached?

No strings attached, optical drives are cheap, if you want to push the boat out you can spend an extra fiver on one if you want, lol, seriously, unless youre wanting one for blu-ray its more than adequate. Re RAM Corsair are good make, and the RAM wont let you down, theres no point spending the extra on anything any faster as the 920 only suppports this speed anyway, only the 965 supports faster and thats silly money, some people get faster as it allows greater clocking but I doubt you'll be held back by this stuff anyway

If you really want a 4870 X2, then you need no less than a 24" monitor (Bigger resolution is better suited to this card). If you want to stick with a 22" monitor, then save some money and get a GTX260 or 4870, both these cards are powerful enough for any game at that res.

Also you haven't said if you need an OS or not.

well the 22" Asus that was recommended is 1080p HD, so I would say 4870x2 is good, esp if you like your games with all the trimmings. I am :) and I think most people that are looking into these cards are as well ;)

True, isn't really such a thing as overkill, just greed :p I run a GTX 280 on a 22" monitor, which is more than needed, but I'm not happy unless everything is up to the highest levels :p I do plan on getting a 24" monitor in the next month though and test the card to the max.

I was just giving the OP some options. Also didn't realise the Asus was 1920x1080 (thought it was the standard 1680*1050 res), so go for the 4870x2.

the Asus less £160, how is the viewsonic cheaper @ +£180

to be fair, the Viewsonic is good as well, but I would go for cheapest tbh, the contrats ratio means very little ;)

thank you very much guys!

i am looking for a pc that would last me long, even if i have to turn down the quality a bit.

i live in a hot country, therefore i will definately need the antec 1200.

considering the possibility of blue-ray being used in the future i might get the blue ray. if i take thrifles's advice and just put xfx ill save 30, i can give a few more quids to get a blue ray :)

and i can only buy a 22", 24" doesnt fit on my desk :(

ok ^^ ill take ur advice thrifles and add xfx

ill save a 30 quid. but is there anything else that i can spend that 30 quid on ?
