1st time Intel buyer

Hi, have always been a AMD person but have just got a E6750 and the GA_PA35C-DS3R motherboard with some Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2-6400C4 TwinX. Noticed the bios overclocking feature as i don't understand anything to do with intel overcloking and just buy usin that my system is at 3179MHz from 2.666MHZ - cores at 44 to 50C at workload level 100%

can anyone enlighten me or is there a good online guide for this motherboard for manual adjustments that actually tell you what each setting means as the motherboard manual although it does explain about the overclocking section isn't helping me

anyway impressed so far!

I use Asus, but was also AMD till this build.

Give me some info on what settings you need know and I try explain as I aint FAM with your Mobo.

Gigabyte Boards normally overclock via a menu in BIOS known as "M.I.T." if I recall correctly.

In the gigabyte bios those are listed like so
CPU Host Frequency (The FSB - I guess you know you increase this to overclock)
System Memory Multiplier (The Memory Divider. Set this to 2.0x which is 1:1. When FSB is 400, Memory is 400 (800 effective) for example)
CPU Clock Ratio (CPU Multiplier - Set this to 8x as this is your default)
CPU Voltage Control (As it suggests. Increase in increments of 0.0125V when you observe instability)
DDR2 Overvoltage control (Memory Voltage, written as +0.1, +0.2 etc. Take 1.8V as the JEDEC standard voltage and add 0.1/0.2/0.3/0.4 where appropriate. Set default voltage for the corsair for now).
DRAM Timing (again as name suggests. Set default RAM timings of your corsair).

Be aware that some adjustments require you to press CTRL+F1 to reveal everything.

There is no trick to get the max overclock. Simply use the above to get clocking and you're good to go.

right by using the "M.I.T." at Full Thrust setting (17% to 19% overclocking) and any other setting that has Turbo or extreme set in the M.I.T i'm currently at 3.264GHZ from the 2.6 - E6750, i had to bump my mem up by 0.2 and Cpu-Z says its at 2.1V and my mem has a range of 1.8 to 2.2V according to OCUK in the blurb

also Cpu-Z is saying my mem is running at 489.6 MHZ with a FSBDRAM of 5:6
Cas - 5.0
Ras to Cas Delay -5
Ras Precharge -5
Cycle Tims -5
Command Rate - 2T

and my Cpu
Core Speed - 3264Mhz
Multiplier - x8
Bus Speed - 408.MHz
Rated FSB - 1632.1MHz

as i type this i'm running ORTHOS on the Blend - stress CPU and ram settings (currently 13mins with no errors) and my CPU temps are between 44C & 45C.

now if i was to forget about M.I.T then what settings could i start with by doing it manual

and also i got no joy with CTRL+F1 - possible not doing right?
