1st time overclocker!

Hi guys!

Really am stuck with this, read the beginners guide and it doesnt make much sense to me.

I have recently bought a 4870, and am seeing not as good as planned results - apparently my e6420 cpu at 2.13ghz is bottlenecking it, so overclocking is a must.

Now, in lamens terms , what do I need to do - I havnt a clue about ram timings at all, so a bit of help on this would be fantastic.

I have 2x 1gb of ocz platinum 6400 ram ddr2 if that makes a difference.

Thanks guys, Ill be waiting for your reply as I really want to play crysis warhead at decent settings :)

Also, what increase should I see? For example, crysis warhead on everything max at 1680x1050 (windows xp) dx9 ran at about average 20-25 fps.

Have you been into the overclocking options in your BIOS and had a look around? I did that and found it really helpful when I was learning!
