I have a msi p7n diamond board with a e8400 wolfdale and am now looking to overclock ! I have been reading as many things as I can To understand what everything in the bios does. 1 thing that baffles me is the cpu multiplier which doesnt seem to have an option for it in the bios ???? anybody throw any light on this for me ????

to overclock you shouldn't need to change the multiplier, on my E8400 all i did was increase the fsb by 5 or 10 MHz then boot into windows and check stability using prime 95 for about 30mins, it it was fine i would restart and push the fsb up another 5 or 10 MHz, and keep going until it becomes unstable, then you need to nudge the vcore voltage up a bit. Mines now at 389 x 9 which gives 3.5 GHz.
