1st time overclocking

hi just built a new rig up

i7-3770k overclocked @ 4.2Ghz
Asus Asus P8Z77-V LX2
16Gb GeIL Black Dragon 1600Mhz
HIS HD 7950 IceQ BOOST 3Gb
2TB Harddrive
Cool Master 612s Heat sink With 2 fans on for the push and pull config!

idle temps are 20-23
and on load they hit 60 degrees overclocked @4.2Ghz

Is this any good? as i'm a complete n00b to overclocking :P

Those are great temps. All good bro. Just keep an eye on them in the future as dust build-up will push them up over time (clean regularly with compressed air). You should be able to get up to 4.5GHz if you wanted it.

I'd say you're enjoying the performance after your old rig in Sig. Criminal to have that E8500 at 3.1ghz btw! Maybe pick up an SSD for your OS drive in the future to really get the most out of it.

Happy days ;) cheers m8 :) .. as for the 3.1 on the e8500 i just never tried overclocking before m8, just had a mess about and got that to 4.2 also xD

dunno m8 lol... i have 2 140mm fans at the front of the system blowing in, 1 140mm on the side blowing in, 1 140mm on the top blowing out, 1 120mm on the back blowing out and 2 120mm fans on the heat sink using the push.pull config ;)
 
fair effort mate can i ask what fans you use on the cooler? did u use the one which came with the fan and an extra one or did u buy 2 new ones? i defo need to upgrade my fans they seem to be useless got 2 120mm on front blowing in 2x140mm on roof blowing out and 1x120mm at back blowing out and same 2x120 on cooler in push pull.
