Oh Damn sorry, how come i need a SSD?

Thoughts on this build?

Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
Asus Z97-P ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V Video Card
Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case
Corsair CX 600W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

Yeah, it fits and works together, an SSD is a much faster drive to run the OS+games from, use the HDD as storage as you get less capacity per £££ with an SSD.

Its not essential, but is nice.

The cashback could help offset the extra cost.

I see thanks, whats the recommended size SSD should get. Also if i swapped the Corsair RAM for Patriot Signature RAM that would take the price down, however is Patriot Signature a good choice.

I see thanks, been talking to some other people, some say i dont need to get a water cooler like Raijinken, another said i should get a small one called 212 EVO? Do i need to get a separate Cooler?

No.

Retail 4690K CPU will come with a stock cooler, you can add a bigger one later on.

Oh so the cooler isnt for the MSI GeForce GTX 970 Its for the CPU, i read that this graphics card and the EVGA GeForce GTX 970 Superclocked ACX 2.0 is overclocked out the box.

I read i need a cooler if i overclock is that true?

If you want to overclock the CPU then a bigger cooler would be good, the stock item can only dissipate so much heat so it has a limit.

The GFX cards already have custom designed coolers on them to cope with the speeds.

Oh right thanks for the help, i added a SSD whats you thoughts on this build.

I had to change the tower because it said the R9 290 might block some bays in the 200R.

With the cash back site you sent me, i can buy the qualifying parts from any site right?

You have to buy the CPU+board same time same place, the other items dont matter.

Read the FAQs fully at the topcashback link.

So I guess you can take a HDD cage out for the card to fit.

Oh right thanks, is there more than 1 HHD cage right, thats just means if i wanted 2 hard drives i couldnt fit 2 with that R9 290 LE, what about if i want to put in an SSD could i do that if i take out a HDD cage?

I think you dont have to remove any cages (perhaps what you read was referring to doing 2 cards)?

See that pic, the top card will clearly miss the top of the cage, the lower one wont, but you will only have one card.

It was it says maximum length 430mm without drive cage. I was asking if i take out the drive cage how will that affect it, will i not be able to put a hard drive in? like is the drive cage one unit that comes out, or is it individual cages, i just wanted to know how it will negatively affect the build if i remove the cage.

No idea, but it looks like you can leave the cage in so no drama.

Hi i was just wondering, if theres a significant difference between the

Radeon R9 290X LE Lightning Edition
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-273-MS

and

Sapphire Radeon R9 290 Tri-X OChttp://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-341-SP

Im trying to keep the price down so i just wanted to know if theres any key differences, benefits or negatives in choosing the Sapphire card.

Now that the price has gone back up I guess looking at a cheaper 290 is a good idea.

By the time i buy it i might spend the extra £20 to get the lighting but i just wanted to know for a beginner how hard would it be to utilise the extra features the lighting has.

Also If i dont get the Lighting would the GTX 970 be a better choice over the standard R9 290?

The features the lightning has is aimed at pros.

Hi ive been doing some more research and messing about with my first build, ive managed to get it down to £600 which is my budget. Whats you thoughts on this build.
