Hi peeps,

Thinking of putting in water cooling for the first time and considering one of the OcUK kits - the V8 Watercooling Kit 240.

It will go in an Antec 1200 v3 with a Gigabyte EX58-UD5 & an i7 920 2.67 @4.00GHz

I currently get idle temps around 50C going up to about 70C on load but I find all the fans a bit noisy sometimes - 3 front 120mm (in), 1 top 200mm (out) & 2 rear 120mm (in), so was thinking it might be time to go water cooling.

Anyway, any advice on the proposed kit or other options I could/should consider?

Thanks :)

how about trying the corsair h100 series as its cheaper and runs well,if you are running on a high budget then go for the v8 kit as xspc are a top brand

Thanks for your replies :)

Would the V8 be good enough if I wanted to add a VGA block later? If I spent a bit more on one of the XSPC 240 kits would it support CPU & VGA cooling?

The problem I have is that there is no where to fit a radiator inside my case. A 240 would fit on the outside, behind the out fans. A 360 is too big and would not fit in the drive bay area.

Thanks for your advice peeps :)

It would but you would need to up the radiator, or failing that, have the cpu loop running on a single 120 radiator and use the existing 240 for the gpu.

Alternatively, you could fit a 360 radiator in the front drive bays quite easily i would imagine.

A 360 radiator would fit in the drive bay area but I wouldn't be able to fit any drives in there or a reservoir/pump.

The more I look into this it is becomming apparent that I may need to change my case to fit in watercooling.

You would be able to fit HDDs in there too, They would just be sitting further back

Alternatively, yes a different case would make life a lot easier, depending on your budget, look at Corsairs offerings, Maybe NZXT too

Ah right, so the HDDs would be pushed back into the case more, towards the mobo?

I presume a reservoir/pump like this would also fit behind the rad?

So maybe the V12 would suit?

Think I'll save a bit more cash and get the V12 kit plus a GPU block & fittings to put on a new card as my 560Ti won't clock much more and it's due for replacement in about 6 months or so.

Thanks for your help SeraphX, much appreciated :)

Double-checked my case and realised that the intake fans are attached to the 3 bottom drive bays which means I couldn't fit a 360 rad in there, at least not without completely butchering the drive bay area of the case and making cleaning the filters a nightmare job every couple of months.

Had a look around and found this 200mm radiator which could be mounted against the 200mm fan mounted in the case top. Anyone used these, seen them in action?
