Hello,

In the next month I'm going to put together my first custom loop. At first just looking to cool CPU and in time add the gpu into the loop.

My current specs are in my sig, but GPU might change by time I come round to WC'ing it.

I've choose to go for this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-156-XS&groupid=962&catid=1532 kit.

My case will only allow for fans on one side of the Rad at the top. Here is a mock up of what I intend to do.

I think this should be fine to cool my CPU, however when I add a GPU into the loop will I need to another Rad?

IF the answer is yes I was thinking of putting in a 120mm at either the rear as push exhaust or if space permits a 120mm rad at the bottom as push.

Looking at my plans do you have any advice??
Thanks.

That is one insanely large picture mate

I'd be tempted to take out the HDD cage at the front and put a 200mm rad in it's place. It doesn't look like you're using many of the drive bays, could you mount the HDD's behind the motherboard tray instead?

A 200mm down the front and a 240mm up top would make a nice little CPU/GPU loop :)

you will definately need another rad to cool GPU,renember all the warm air from the GPU,RAM ect will be going through that rad! as for adding the 120 rad,at the bottom would be best but i think your going to need more than a 120,i guess it depends on what ur doing! if it was me id look into modding the case, maybe a 200mm at the front and 240mm at top, also change that rear exhaust to inlet, but thats me.im no expert ! gd luck

I suggest you cut that HDD cage in the front using a cheap dremel or smthing then put ur HDDs in the 5.25 drive bays since you got many of those. Use the front 230mm as radiator with fan exhaust and at the rear of the case have a 140mm intake fan with a dust filter.

To give you an idea about temps, in a 22-25c room I get up to 73c on my CPU (4.2ghz i7 930) on prime95 and up to 44c on the GPU (7970) when gaming (with cpu around 55c during games). I have 1x280mm and 1x120mm HWlabs SR1 rads. So for you the additional 230mm rad is really needed to cool the GPU as well mostly cause your CPU will be very very hot with only 1 rad and cpu+gpu.

OK, I'll look into modding the case. I do still have another 230mm intake on my side panel. Once I've installed my loop I'll take a look at the space I have. If its possible to remove the HDD cage. I'll give it a go. Thanks all :)
