1st Timer needing help!!!

Hello folks, My name is Rab and i am a new member looking for some help about overclocking my C.P.U. I have a Gigabyte G31M-ES2L mobo with an intel C2D E6750. I have tried to research online but was always worried when it came to it. So i thought the best thing to do was to signup and post to you guys. Im looking for a step by step guide on how to do this if u can. Any and all help is much appreciated. I do build and repair pc`s and lappys so i do know a few things but as i say, it was just worry as this is something i have never attempted and just didnt want to fry my system, (or set the house on fire)

Thanks bliss for the help, but i have recently been told that my mobo (Gigabyte G31M-ES2L) has no overclocking options in bios, is there anyway around this or may i just get another mobo? I have also seen in various forums that overclocking software is a big no no..whats urs or any1 elses opinion on that.

Awww, well that`s that then i suppose i may leave it 4 now untill i upgrade or get something different 2 mess about with....thanx 4 ur help folks it was much appreciated.
