That's what I was thinking. A fast 7,200RPM or a 10K Raptor would surely be ideal for this?

Im not too sure but I believe its a 1.8" device which should mean very high platter density. 7200rpm or 10k rpm drives wouldnt be idealm at this size, power requirements would increase, as would noise and more importantly the cost for what would probably be only a small gain in performance.

Is that 100gb or 2X 100gb?

Bit of a difference there between max read and sequential read...

Thats either going to be the use of Asynchronous NAND thats caused that or the HDD. More than likely the Asynchonous NAND as its internal bandwidth on AS-SSD shows to be a lot slower than other tests such as ATTO etc where by the drive would look far quicker.

No arguing that this is horrendously quick though

A massive massive boost over the Momentus XT where by steroids wouldnt even be able to help bridge the gap. This is far closer to a pair of raided SSDs than a slightly faster HDD

Righto, sadly not for me (vertex 3 should have been here today, now tuesday, thanks DX!) but a mate of mine is seriously interested in it. Guessing it's similar to how Intel RST thingy works, just an all in one solution?

Would be great if you could do a review.

Test using AS SSD and ATTO against other SSD's and also see if these are bootable.

These are indeed bootable just like the RevoDrive 3s. If we can get one on review we will do as many tests as possible to ensure all areas are covered. Ill see what I can do

Thats a cool Video! Its a shame theres no benchmarks for the drive on screen but good to see it all working and to see the engineers point of view and reasons on the product

How fast is this compared to second gen SSD's?

Depends on the situation but as it has 2x 60GB (showing 100GB) or sandofirce SSDs (the same as the agility/vertex etc) along with the 1TB drive it comes out on top compared to an Agility or Force 3 in most situations making it very fast indeed!

Is it possible to change the drive on these? seems to look like a standard laptop drive.

I couldnt tell you but for warranty purposes I wouldnt recomend it

Will be interesting too see if the claims of read/write speeds are true.

I still find it very hard to belive especially at 400 quid, there wouldnt be much point in getting a 256 or 512gig SSD for 200-300 quid ? Rather add a bit more and get a 1tb surely....

Its a shame they didnt do a 512gig version for £199.99

The money is in the cards on this product, not the hdd. A 512GB version would probably cost £350 making it a little pointless given the price of this.
