I have a 750 watt PSU, new ati cards need 1x6 pin + 1 x 8 pin connectors, I only have 4 6 pin connectors.

What can I do, is there any way I can use the new cards without buying a new PSU?
Ive read that the 6 pin connectors won't cut it even with an adapter and I dont want to shell out for a new card I can't use.

it takes some of the other lines and adds it to the 7+8th connectors, it'll mean slightly more draw down that line but it's fine, your psu is more than capable, even with high-end gpu's :)

The extra two pins are ground pins to allow for more power draw. On a lesser psu this maybe a problem but as you have a beefy 750w, a corsair no less, there shouldn't be a problem. If the adapter isn't safe it wouldn't be available, just make sure psu has enough juice.

I used to run my gx2 on a Tagan 530w that only had 2 six pins. I did a hack job and wired the extra 2 ground pins to a molex plug and it worked perfectly fine.

In a nutshell, you'll be fine. There's enough power to run 2 cards this way if you wish.
