Hi all. Ok.

I've been using a set of Logitech X530's for about 4-5 years now, and i'm getting rid of them. Even though there cheap, i've grown quite fond of them over the years!

I'm "Upgrading" to a nice set of 2.1's. These will be going through an X-Fi Extreme Music.

Good sound quality is essential, as i listen to mostly music on my PC. The games i play i can make do with them being in 2.1, and i don't watch a lot of movies on it either.

I've narrowed it down to some final choices.

Aego M - Now, call me mad, but i think these are butt-ugly:eek:, however i've heard nothing but praise about the sound quality and build.

Gigaworks T3 Series II - Again call me mad, but i love the look of these. However i don't know a lot about the sound quality. Can anyone help? The speakers seem small, and the sub looks massive.

Logitech Z Cinema - Not heard too much about these either. Look average, sound any good?

Anyways, any help will be welcomed :)

What is your budget? An amp and book shelf speakers would be good for you.

I can't comment on the others but the Aego's are fantastic, I only changed to an amp and speakers as it didn't cost me anything and is a bit better.

I Don't really have room for an amp and desktops, or believe me i'd have deffinately had a look into it:). I guess my budget is about 150 quid.

Oh and another thing.... it might not make the slightest bit of difference, but i run through Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit.

Well given your budget and the fact that a seperates amp and speakers are out of the question I would have to say the Aego's.

However if you could find a set of 'Altec lansing ADA890 THX' speakers for sale I would grab them as they will likely be very cheap now second hand and they sound fantastic. They have a really nice sound and a sub that sounds fantastic for a computer system. They are advertised as 4.1 but the 2 rears can sit on top of the 2 front speakers for decent 2.1. In my opinion they also sound better than the Aego's.

OK, so it's between the Aego M, and the Gigaworks. Does anyone know of any online comparisions? I've had a search but with no luck.
Or does anyone have first hand experience of hearing any of the two?

If you can't get a separate amp and bookshelfs then go for the Aegos.

Reviews of creative speakers really should be taken with a shovel of salt, especially as all the reviews will be from 1337 GAMERMAN, or XXXS OVERCLOCKING ELEVNTY HARDWARE, and will obviously pimp gaming sound sytems, probably because they have never heard anything better.

Anyone for a bit of stereotyping? :P

I agree that some people out there will brag about their stuff and wont really know what theyre talking about or will have limited experience, but the same could be said about anyone making comments like you :P

I think the only real way of knowing is to listening to it yourself ;/

I've used both the Aego M's and the Z Cinema, the Z Cinema is a well built pretty nifty piece of kit which is hamstrung by the drivers, when they work great! When they crash not so good.

I'm trying not to sound snobby but the Aego M's are much closer to high end hifi while the Z Cinema is great if you're doing nothing fancy and just want something which can go very loud.

Well following that reasoning why bother asking anyone anything, we're all going to be biast to a point. I do actually agree with the shovel of salt comment with creative gear however, 50/50 it's either someone being paid for a good review or someone who doesn't know what they're on about.
