2.1 Speakers for PC gaming

Sorry I can’t see that in the manual for the Edifier r1280dbs

I’ve got it set up so RCA from front L/R on sound card to RCA input 1 on L speaker

Then cable connecting the black/red push connectors on the speakers

OK so I've got somewhere.

In the Sound Blaster app I turned on Direct mode, and the left / right sounds sounded more accurate albeit the left coming from the right and right from the left.
I've swapped the cables around and ran a you tube test and its clear left and right speaker sounds now

Only issue I have is that in the Sound Blaster Command app, its showing Direct Stero for 2 bookshelf speakers but no subwoofer and there is no output to it even though its plugged into the soundcard.
If I unplug the sub from the soundcard and plug into the back of the master Edifier, I get output to the subwoofer

Yeah thats what I thought

Changing around connections and I can't get my head around this - turned off direct mode to get the subwoofer back in the Command app
When you test the speakers they dont sound true L or R, if I do the youtube test, its clear L and R sounds

If I turn direct mode on, the sub disappears in the command app and when you test the speakers, its clear L and R sounds

Neither will output the signal to the sub when in the soundcard
I only get sub output if its plugged into the master edifier

Yet, if I go into the sounds settings of Windows, go into my soundcard and then test the subwoofer, you hear it

Yeah noticed that so go Creative settings, windows settings and when I go on the device settings I can see nvidia audio too haha

Windows settings seem to recognise and can test the sub but nothing else can or something non windows seems to be stopping it

All sorted bar the outputs being reversed

I've got the speaker with the controls on the L, obviously the remaining on the R - as I believe it should be

If I use RCA to connect to the PC, I have to plug the red into the white, and white into the red to get L on the L and R on the R
If I use optical, the output is reversed as well

How is this happening? I can't see an option to switch the outputs

I've tried removing and re-installing my soundcard but same results

aren't the speakers you are using, the one with the controls is the right hand one? and the push fit red/black is the output to the left?

Edit, as in you have the speakers the wrong way round. The manual isn't clear on this, although from the front it's got both speakers with the active on the right, tyhen on the view froj the back, it's the other way round. IOt just calles them Actice and passive. One review I looked at got confused on it as well!

I'm glad you added that because I thought I was being stupid but if others are getting confused too that helps save the embarrasment  :cry:

I've checked the manual and it doesnt make it clear.
I googled it, and their AI tool says active speaker (left) and passive speaker (right)
But images online and setup videos on youtube seem to show the active speaker on the right but again, reviewers didn't seem too sure
