Hey,
Just sold a 7.1 Creative set as it was overkill for my needs. Of course I didn't think of that when purchasing and by the time I had a ball of wires and leads and cables (all the same thing but I'm repeating for emphasis of mess) hanging out from 7 speakers plus the bass, I was ready to give up.
I'm not really too knowledgable in either soundcards or speakers so I was just hoping for a bit of guidance and perhaps experience on some of the products I've shortlisted. If there are better ones than the ones below or the ones I've picked out are rubbish, say so.
My needs are pretty generic, bit of gaming, music and on the off chance some movies as well. So a good allrounder I guess.
Budget would be up to £100 max, don't really see much more point in going beyond that as I probably wouldn't even notice the difference in quality.
Shortlist:
1. Harman Kardon SoundSticks II
- Really like the design of these, first and foremost. Have read a lot of good reviews on them as well, both in terms of physical look and sound quality.
2. Sony SRS-DZ10 2.1 Speakers
- Would have to be honest and say I don't know a great deal about these and would be going solely on the Sony brand name.
3. JBL Creature Speakers II Satellite Speaker System
- Design is a bit unusual. Haven't really taken to them in comparison to the SoundSticks II but noticied a good few people have them on here so I thought they might be worthwhile and good alternative to fall back on.
I'll continue to read reviews from elsewhere, but would appreciate your opinions on them - as some product pages can be filtered to one-sided reviews.
Thanks.
