as you can see from the pictures my budget is around £100 -> £150

the amp and speakers in that post are not neccesarly what i would get but bearing in mind my budget its around about that :)

i shall let you know my findings ive got a set of harmon kardon soundstick II at the min and im in the process of replacing them with a proper amp and set of bookshelf speakers
 
If your on a budget for Hi-Fi kit then buy second hand. The kit you can get s/h for that sort of price will definately beat equivalent PC sets; and unlike a lot of PC speaker sets it should last for many years without deterioration :)
 
The gale mini monitor are a very good speaker for the money
most people that say they are crap have never even heard them.

Got a set of them in the Home Office Downstairs, running off a Sherwood Amp. For what they cost they are very good. :)
