2.1 vs amp + speakers

as you can see from the pictures my budget is around £100 -> £150

the amp and speakers in that post are not neccesarly what i would get but bearing in mind my budget its around about that

i shall let you know my findings ive got a set of harmon kardon soundstick II at the min and im in the process of replacing them with a proper amp and set of bookshelf speakers

even low end audio amp and speakers can usually beat pc speakers - but obviously you have to buy right *(and afford the space)

If your on a budget for Hi-Fi kit then buy second hand. The kit you can get s/h for that sort of price will definately beat equivalent PC sets; and unlike a lot of PC speaker sets it should last for many years without deterioration

The gale mini monitor are a very good speaker for the money
most people that say they are crap have never even heard them.

Those altec lansing ones look like the newer version of mine (fx4021) all i can say is jee-zus....

They sound so nice

Hi-fi is better. If you went second hand for that sort of budget you'd get something pretty good.

Got a set of them in the Home Office Downstairs, running off a Sherwood Amp. For what they cost they are very good.
