Looking to upgrade my old 19" 4:3 TFT to something a little bigger, and can't decide between 2 19" widescreen monitors for around £250, or 1 22" screen for about the same price. Will be connected to a dual DVI 7900GT, 4200 X2 @ 2.4ghz, 2gb Corsair XMS machine. Thanks. :)

I'd go for the 22" myself, to be honest. At least you'd see the benefit in gaming, DVDs etc, which you wouldn't with two displays (unless you could use the second display for other things while watching a DVD...depends on your usage though).

I went from a 19" Samsung to a 20" Samsung and it's been really nice having more space on screen, without taking up much more space on the desk. Would definitely recommend the single display option.

I'd go for a dual screen set up. 1" isn't going to do much but adding another monitor will make a huge difference. You will be multi-tasking like crazy with a dual set up.

i thought that when i got my second 2007WFP but the novelty soon wore off and i stopped looking at the second screen

i find my dual screens immensely useful, but i suppose if you never do any real work and just look at the forums then 1 screen is better.

Thanks for the replies, will probably go for 1 22" then, any recommendations OTHER than the fantastic looking Samsung one? Have currently got a 40" Samsung LCD TV which I love, but was ideally looking to spend less than the 22" Sammy costs on a screen nearly as good, any ideas? :p

could you not just keep your old 19" as well so you've got dual monitors and the 22"? When I went from a 17" to a 20.1" widescreen I kept the 17" and stuck it in portrait - it's great for browsing the web. how many sites do you know of that are designed to be wider than 1024px?

The 19" screen will be sold to my bro as soon as I get my new one, bargain for him at £50, I paid £200 for it 2 years ago!
