Howdy. Just got back off holiday and have some money to spend on speakers.

Not much, talking about 50 notes and was looking for a 2.1 setup running off an onboard sound card.

Now I want the best bang for my buck but I have other things to buy with my money so £50 is roughly my limit.

I am looking about now and I am tempted by the Philips MMS321. These are 2.0's not 2.1's but the speakers have the sub in them. Was thinking of them not taking up much space but i'll find the space needed for the sub anyhow.

So whats good on the market? Good to look out for and what to advoid?

I game a lot on this computer and also listen to tunes but never watch movies on it. That's left to the home cinema else where.

I'd prefere speakers really. I don't particually want to be stranded by my computer when I listen to tunes.

On another note; I've seen those speakers but didn't really no much about them. But my price range is not going up now even if they are good as I have just sheared my back bike hub. grrrr...

Ooooo how about the Altec Lansing 5051GT's? Its 5.1 surround but with a twist. These seem do-able as I don't want rear speakers as such but has anyone herd good things about these?
