Hi

I've ben running the aboive motherboard with 2gb of OCUK supplied Geil PC-6400 memory for months without problem. Decided to buy another 2gb - absolutely identical. System powers up but will not boot. The memory is fine as I've booted with that memory from the same slots as the old memory and matching old and new is fine.

I've read on other forums that the BX2 motherboard only supports memory up to 1.9v (the Geil is 2.1v) - irrespective of what you may change the settings to in the BIOS (I've tried 2.08v).

Is anybody successfully running 4gb of this memory in the BX2. Or could you recommend some good lower voltage memory?

Thanx
Ian

i ran 4 x 1gb sticks at ddr 800 on the badaxe2 micron memory but it didn't last long lol
the badaxe2 motherboard hates micron memory chips always die on the board.

had up the northbridge and add a tad more volts to ram settings
the latest bios now will only boot ram at 1.8 so you may need to use
a single stick at 1.8 volts then change setting in bios to get it to work

if your looking for low volts ram get the gskill

My original XBX2 had a 2x1GB OCZ DDR2-800 Plat. Rev2 Memory and that posted up at default volts of 1.84v no problem. I increased the vaults to 2.12 for stability and the only issue was that the Ram would only run 5-4-4-12 latencies when the ram was rated for 4-4-4-12.

I now have a second XBX2 (couldn't resist, retail boxed for £40!) and run 2x2GB OCZ Gold Series DDR-800. Again, memory posted up fine at 1.84v default, and increased to 2.2v. Again CAS rating is one point above what the memory is rated for (runs 6-5-5-18 at present) but then I've not played about with the reference/memroy speeds on the XBX2 Bios just yet.
