2.4 Phenom delays

Just gets worse and worse. The more i read about AMD the less hope i give them. Might be best if they just call it a day and let intel get complacent which would give an ambitious company like Samsung an opportunity to get a foothold.

It's funny how nobody bats an eyelid when Intel's new Quad Core throttles with the cooler they put in the box with it.

So true. Scaremongering ahoy!

The Intel can't even run at full speed on the boxed stock cooler!

Says who? Aandtech, with so much thermal compound it might as well be thermal insulator, and a bios which incorrectly reads the CPU and overvolts it.

The QX9770 may need more power than the lower spec Penryn parts, but it still uses less power than the QX6850.

Fair enough, it was like a swimming pool under that CPU.

and a bios which incorrectly reads the CPU and overvolts it.

That's Intel's problem. What difference would the compound have made? Maybe a few degrees, but the main fault is that the CPU was rushed out to try and spoil AMD's launch - and wasn't ready.
