hi

this is difficult to explain but ill try, in most dx10 games in crossfire, i'm getting flicking objects, like e.g if the game as tress such as crysis the tree would flicker.. but when i turn off crossfire then it doesn't flicker, also the crazy thing is in dx9 mode in crossfire it doesn't flicker.

another crazy thing is 3DMark Vantage works fine in crossfire..

i'm using 9.7 drivers & win7 ..

Any other games it does it in?
I only have "Warhead" but have not had any problems like you mention in any game tbh, the 9.7 drivers actually gave me a decent boost in the "Resident Evil" benchmark test with dx10.

crysis warhead does flicker too on the trees in dx10 also i've downloaded Resident Evil benchmark test and that flickered in dx10. then i downloaded devil may cry 4 benchmark and that didn't flicker in dx10 .

i've even tryed underclocking both cards , thinking it could be the cards but it's the same

Does crossfire allow you to change the rendering mode for the game, eg alternate-frame rendering, load balancing etc etc? If so, you could try changing that game's profiles to one of the other modes and see if you get the same effect...

nope. its automaticly set..

the only setting that as something to with crossfire is catalyst A.l. which as 2 options, standard or advanced, i've tryed it on both, but doesn't make a different.

i've just tryed it, when disabling Catalyst AI the second card doesn't be used. Catalyst AI needs to be on so crossfire uses both cards

updated

i still can't find out why its flickering, with 9.8 and 9.8 hotfix its just the same..

i've recorded some video to show whats happening.

i know its slow, its because of the recording.

Hey gareth, I purchased two 4890, and I have the exact same problem. I have read everywhere, but everyone seems to have different 'solutions', (which havn't worked for me).

Some of the solutions were:

-Try moving the crossfire bridge onto the other set of connectors, (or taking one off if you have two on)

-Your power supply is too small (very unlikely) and is not supplying your cards with enough juice.

-Try rolling back to a different driver

-Installing all crysis patches

-Your cards are overheating or are overclocked too high.

I would love the solution, because it seems I have wasted money on another card for crap performance.

Good luck
