Hi gang, long time reader first time poster.

I am after some advice on a new build, I have a budget of 2.5k but can move a little as to not downgrade the build.

I will be carrying out the work myself, I have built many PCs in the past but none in the last 12 years.

I am running a 970 with a i5 that can still play a few games in potato mode but that about it.

Looking to be playing factrio, cyberpunk and what ever 2025 brings Half life 3..... (yar right)

Below is what I have picked so far, some things have gone out of stock since I started.

I have a working keyboard and mouse but that's all I am keeping off my old PC due to it's age.

Not a big lover RGB so I have gone for a stealth build, I could do with a stealth CPU cooler but could not find one, anywhere I could drop 200£.

These have had issues with the latest Windows update, it might be prudent to switch to something like the T500. I think WD have resolved it with a firmware update.
Thanks, I did read about this yesterday, it looks to be fixed but I will definitely keep a eye on it before clicking buy.
Are you going to wait for the 9800X3D? This price is so horrible, it makes baby Jensen cry :o

Can I tempt you with an Antec C5 ARGB? It includes all the fans (7 of 'em), which would save you 8 x £10.
So yes, at the latest I want it by mid December so it in time the holidays, but I did plan to wait till the 7th of November and see if the price drops when the 9800 comes out.

Thanks, That's a nice case also, I am not 100 % against ARGB, but it can get out of hand lol, I will think on that.

I would wait with spec check as there will be price shake up soon. One thing to me stands out is you mention stealth build and you have selected all sort of black parts but with white psu , just careful as you add stuff to basket ;).
Regards black cpu cooler just google

Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 Black

Regards the Antec C5 I'm pretty sure you can leave argb disconnected, on Antec website shows argb &pwm fan controller with separate connection, so just don't connect for lights if you want that case.

Thanks, lol yes the PSU was left on as the black is out of stock and I wanted to remember which one I wanted, may need to replace that if it's not going to be available, any suggestions?

You have to be careful with online CD keys bought via resellers and "legit" websites.

They are often sold on the back of purchasing the original Windows license using stolen credit cards.

@Ray Butts, I like that build you posted, it's sensible but I also agree with the points raised by @Tetras.

For RAM, also consider G.Skill Ripjaws S5 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory (F5-6000J3040F16GX2-RS5K) or Kingston FURY Beast 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL40 Memory (RFBB5-60C40K2/32).

The second kit is likely Hynix and can overclock/tighten timings nicely if you're wanting to play around with overclocking.
I am not sure I want to type my card number into some of them sites lol.. but I will have a look into it.

Thanks I will check out the ram

Build MK II, over budget but looks good?

I'd swap out for a peerless assassin as suggested above, but I assume you want the AIO for looks.

If it was my system, I'd also be fitting 64GB, or at least 48GB, but it is also true that you don't need it apart from some modded games like Skylines.
See, the issue is that with this case, it has 10 fan slots, I guess I could just not fit them all, but if you were to by the time you add the PA and 3 fans it works out the same as the AIO.

Can the ran not wait and be added in a year or twos time?

If you have to stick to a "gaming" headset, maybe you can find the budget for an Audeze Maxwell?

As someone whose other hobby is audio equipment, it hurts me to see people pay good money for what I can only imagine is trash tier sound
I like the all in one as it says having a mic sitting about, any ideas on mic and headset that's not over £300 that does have good sound? I love music and like the idea of hovering with the music on.
