at the mo i have a 8800 gt,but have the chance of the same card so i could put in 2,what i need 2 know is would 2 8800 gts be better than 1 4870

2 8800 gts 512 is better than 1 4870, depends in which game that supports multi gpus

its call of duty modern warfare 2 im trying 2 get ready for,and sorry for the lack of info on the cards,the 8800s are less tha 512 im sure ,my friens usually does this stuff for me ,the 4870 is a 1gig

If you have a 256Mb 8800GT then I'd replace it with a 260GTX or 4890 no point flogging a dead horse. If its 512Mb tho I say source a 2nd 512Mb 8800GT cheap if you have a SLI board and do that as 8800GT 512Mb SLI is still v. fast in most stuff often beating a 4890.

im sure theyr 256 mb,id love a 4890 but dont have the spare cash at the mo and was offerd the 1 gig 4870 cheep

If your planning on MW2 then I'd go with the 4870 1gig over 256Mb SLI any day.

If they 256mb, then 4870 1gb is the better choice.
