2 channel mini amp recommendations

Looking to get a pair of bookshelf speakers for my pc and have some quality audio, unless the edifier speakers with inbuilt amps are that good, but I would prefer to be able to choose my own brand of speakers an pair with a little power amp.

Has anyone any recommendations please with the right inputs to come from a pc

Are the amount of connections a consideration?

Well I need an input to take from a desktop PC so optical SPDIF input would be ideal and then just 2 channels for L + R needed that's all.

I have a SMSL AD18 which is a USB DAC, so just USB from pc then monitor audio bookshelves... works well...

I have the same one, used with a pair of Q Acoustics 3010s. Had it a few years and it's been great.
