Hi everyone hope you are all well

Can you please help me decided between these two ram kits. I've decided to go with qvl approved 3200mhz

Ryzen 5900X (on pre-order)

B550 gigabyte vision D-P

RAM option 1= Ripjaws V DDR4-3200MHz

CL16-18-18-38 1.35V 64GB
(2x32GB)

RAM option 2 = Ripjaws V DDR4-3200MHz

CL14-14-14-34 1.35V 64GB
(4x16GB)

The build is going to be for DAW and gaming. So I want 64gb. GPU is a 3090 F.E

Hope someone can help please

What kind of problems could I see with the 4x16Gb ram. Both ram kits are QVL I thought that would mean I wouldn't have any problems at all with advertised speed and timings

I've asked this question before if I really need 64gb on another forum. I was told that I may benifit from 64gb. Here is my post from that forum. What do you think?

Hi everyone,

Hope you can help me answer if 64gb ram is overkill or not

Multitasking the following software on triple 1080p monitors

Minimum system requirements for ram

Ableton live. Ram = 8gb

Traktor pro. Ram = 4gb

Maschine jam. Ram = 4gb

N control. Ram = 4gb

Windows 10. Ram = 4gb

Total ram = 24gb

But the above is minimum requirement.

32gb or 64gb

Thank you all

On another note there seems to be a general opinion that 4x8gb single rank sticks acts as 2x16gb dual ranked sticks. Both these are good because the cpu can send write data to one ram stick while waiting for read data from another ram stick.

But I can't find any information on 4x16gb which is quad rank.

I am rather confused about it all

As for overclocking I'm only wanting to achieve the advertised speed and timings. They should work with no problem because of the QVL on xmp is that correct?
