I've come home from university and left my current rig up there. I use an old Dell (P4, 256mb RAM, Geforce 4) while at home. I turned it on today and was informed by Windows Media Player that my sound device isnt working. Control panel says the same thing. I tried an old laptop that is lying around instead, and have the same problem. System restore doesn't work. I know that the desktop has a soundcard, rather than onboard sound, but I'm unsure about the laptop-I assume that it doesn't.
It just seems weird that the problem has come along on both machines at once. Both run XP Home 32bit if that's any help. Has anyone got any ideas of what the problem is? Is it me!?!
