I've currently got a w800i on O2 Online and i get 100 minutes and 500 texts which is great, and i may drop down the minutes to 50, i mainly use it for texting but lately i have been doing a lot of calls and my bills are coming in at £50-£80 a month so i'm looking at taking out a new T-Mobile Flext tarrif.

£35 for 900 minutes is great, and i get it half price anyway as i work for the link, so for £17.50 a month, i can't really complain.

I'll be getting one of the new MDA Vario II's in June/July time when it's out and the main reason i want it is for the keyboard.

The problem i see is -

I want to use my w800i for calls
I want to use the Vario II for texts (because it has a sliding keyboard)
The w800i is on O2 (the one with all the texts)
The Vario II will be on T-Mobile (the one i will use for all the calls)

Now, question is, how easy is the Vario II to unlock so i can put the O2 card in to use as a texting machine?

Second question is - Is the w800i unlocked as standard to put the T-Mobile sim card in?

Thanks guys :D

Andy

All o2 phones are unlocked if i remember correctly, dont know about t-mobile if they lock or unlock phones but u might have to ask them for an unlock code in order to get the phone to work on other networks etc.

I've just unlocked my Vario using the supplied data cable and an app downloadable off the internet. Assuming the Vario II is similar (will prob also run WM5), then it's not a problem.

how has my mate managed to get 1000texts and 120anytime minutes for £25 a month with a Samsung D500 on O2?

Either that was an upgrade and he was a valued customer or he got a Sim Only and used a phone that he already had.

Or bought it somewhere as a clearance.

yeh it was an upgrade i think and he's been with O2 for a while. Ive been with them 5 n half years on pay n go though, surely they can do me a half decent £20 month deal
