2 copies of bc2

Hi i installed bc2 from dvd, but when vietnam came out my friend gifted me bc2 on steam so i could buy vietnam on steam, ive still used the original account to play.

I want to give a copy to my brother, is this possible?

Your brother will need to use the key from Steam to register his account. But yes you can.

Assuming you haven't installed it or anything, I think you should be able to right click it and get the serial from it. Then get your brother to "add a steam" game in his account using the said serial?

tried that, it says its invalid?
unless the copy im using has switched over from dvd key to steam key?

You need to install the game using your disk but the key from Steam, the key isn't actually tied to Steam.

That won't work. You can't use the BC2 key to activate another copy on another Steam account.

Your brother will need to use your DVD (Or activate on origin) but use the key provided with Steam when prompted.
