2 different graphic cards

can I run 2 diff cards for 2 diff applications? One will be a dedicated one for games and the other one is a specific one for CAD drawing solid works on the same computer.:confused:
 
I think you can or you used to be able to, but is is wasn't that straight forward and you might run into some quirks with things like drivers, might be more trouble than it's worth
 
you can run 2 graphics cards in one PC, you could then connect a monitor to each one, I think that then whatever app was running on that monitor would also run on that graphics card, so to play games you'd set the gaming card as the "primary" screen in windows control panel and then games would run on that card... you may or may not need to set the CAD card/screen as primary to get it to correctly run the CAD app on the CAD card

if they are different manf. you might run in to driver conflicts between the 2 cards though
