Hi 8Pack.

I'm going to get 32GB of RAM to go with my Ryzen build (high capacity required for DAW use, compiling and the like). I wanted to know whether 2x high density is preferred over 4x lower density? As i want to get the most out of the RAM.

TIA.

I think for performance the 4 dimm option is better. I honestly did not test anything above 16gb on Ryzen so far and that was 2 x 8gb, Theoretically the 4 x 8gb is the best option for you .

OK I checked this today and 4 dimms oc even on premium boards is not good. This won't work well until amd fix the memory tables. Use 2x16gb upto 3000 Mhz on Asus hero board or similar.

Cheers buddy. I have 2x16GB 3200MHz and have the ASUS Crosshair on order.

Looking forward to tuning the RAM, hopefully the issues will be sorted.

Not much tuning available at the moment. I think memory tables and code will take some bios revisions for amd to get correct.
