2 domain under 1 host?

Hi,

I've been assigned to design 2 websites and the client have purchased 1 package with domain name with host, and also another just the domain name.

I have never tried to store 2 different website on the same host. Is it even possible?

I havn't really looked into it, so if you could point me to the right direction it would be enough to get me started.

Depends on the host, but usually you can buy packages which can host more than one domain, but you may need a "reseller" package, which you can usually add as many domains/subdomains as you wish and create people their own control pannels and ftp logins etc...

If your host allows it (and pretty much all of them do), you should be able to add another domain in the control panel.

It's often called an "add-on domain".

you have two routes... the first is addon domains which run from a subdirectory of your main account but to the unsuspecting public appears to be a full domain, you can even set ftp accounts to just access the sub domain (if you wanted to give limited control to another person etc.)

your second option as mentioned is a reseller, where everything is seperated out and fully controllable by you... i used to run addon domains and they are perfectly fine for low key stuff...

btw: skyfall what is the name of that font in ure sig?

Worst-case scenario, point domain2 at a subfolder of domain1. Far from ideal but possible if you really have to.

Can't remember at the moment, and the pc with all my fonts on is broken at the moment.
