Hi,

I've got 13 case fans in my PC and they are configured as follows

6 fans with a splitter setup connected to motherboard Fan connector number one
6 fans with a splitter setup connected to motherboard Fan connector number two
1 fan connected to motherboard Fan connector number three

2 of the 6 fans on connector number two have suddenly stopped working - they won't spin at all. All other fans are working as normal.

Any ideas what would cause this?

The power supply in the PC was just replaced two weeks ago due to the previous power supply dying, other than that the PC is all the same components and setup for the last two years

Thanks

Swap the connectors with other fans and see if the fault follows? Either the controller has given up outputting voltage/pwm or the fans are toast

Thanks for reply

I've swapped the mobo header around and it didn't work, so guess it's the cables, controller or the fans are dead. Haven't gone down to testing anything further, I was hoping it's the motherboard fan header so I can get a new motherboard under warranty. Doing further testing means I'll have to open up a rats nest of wires and not sure if I'll be open to get the case closed again as I'm terrible with wiring and it just fits currently with the cables neatly tied up
