Hi All, With a combination of taking stuff from my current pc and upgrading parts, I need to make two desktops. One for me (for gaming and photoshop / sketchup) and then using the remaining parts and a couple of new bits build one for my daughter for school work (in a year or so) . I have a couple of questions.

My current system.
i7 4770K on a Gigabyte Z87-HD3
GPU ASUS 1070
16 GB DDR3 Dual
A corsair H110 cooler
Corsair 800w PSU

So the core of that will form my daughters pc.

I want to upgrade to a

Ryzan 7 3700x on whatever MB is required. RTX 2080 super. 16gb DDR4 RAM. Case
Then use other parts from my current pc. I have ssd's etc so dont need to upgrade those. I'm thinking of doing it in phases. Is this a decent upgrade worth spending £1300 on ?? Will I see much of a difference ??

Initially I would get the RTX 2080 as I can just chuck it in without too much hassle (and store the old 1070 for later use). Would I see much of a FPS gain in games like DCS or F1 2019, Assetto corsa ?? Or is the CPU a bottleneck ?

Then once Ive saved up I would get the CPU MB and RAM. I would probably also get a new case at that point as my current Phantecs one is really poor with ventilation. Do you think the stock cooler on the Ryzan would be good enough. That way I can keep my H110 on the I7 4770K. Im trying to do minimal building.

Phase 3 would be to add in the parts to get my daughters one running. Then I guess I would need a new operating system and ssd power supply etc.

I would really appreciate your advice.

Chris

I have not overclocked any of my current pc. If I got the RTX 2080 would it be worth overclocking the I7 4770K ?? I am guessing with that cooler and PSU I have the potential to rinse some more performance out of it ??
