Randomly drove past this today, thought it was worthy of a photograph :p

Shame i haven't bought my sigma 10-20 yet, it was screaming for a wider lens :(

Not sure about the borders i put on

Both nice pictures, not keen on the borders though.

A wider lens would have been perfect.

Bottom picture is definately asking for a wider lens.

Perhaps just a simple border though.

Hmm, yeah, I'm not too sure about the boarders either. They are quite snazzy but I find them distracting (and you lose some of the image).
As for the shots, they're ok, but don't really do much for me. You should visit that place again, I bet there are some great shots hiding!

The horizon is slightly off in the first picture. ;)

The border is a nice effect, but i dont think it helps these shots.

I think the first would have worked better if you had got lower to the ground and made the railing stand out more against the lovely sky rather than the water and trees.

The 2nd as Syk3 could do with being wider, showing the lake start to come back inwards at the edges..

Definately a good location to revisit. :)

Yeah, definately.

I'm not keen on the angle in the first. It's not 'off' enough to mean it, so it looks slightly odd. I think a straight horizon with careful positioning of the railing-thing would be nice.

I agree with the points about number two; it needs to be taken from lower down in my opinion. Not sure if it works with the railing-thing slap-bang centre either.

What stood out for me though is the need for a polariser. They're both really shiny! I think a polariser to cut that down and bring out the blues in the sky and water would be awesome.

I was using a CP, think i got carried away in the post processing :p

Bored + late = new versions, what do you think?

This lens is annoying the hell out of me, it really is rubbish. AF searches really bad, absolutely terrible in low light, and i don't like the focal length, 18mm isn't wide enough, and 55mm isn't enough zoom. :o

Need to save a few more pennies for the sigma 10-20mm, then i'll revisit to the lake ;)

Still nice shots, but again im still unsure about the borders. I myself prefer just simple thin-medium sized borders. Although they are very nice shots either way.

I think the original border really suits the first picture but much less so the second. Definately an interesting shot, any idea what that valve does?

Nothing perfect, adjusted slightly - made it a touch darker & added a more subtle border, hope you dont mind.

I really like those borders the OP put :), but maybe that's because I'm kinda addicted to Aero atm :o
