2 gig corsair Value

hi, im building a gaming system and was wondering if buying 2 gigs of corsair value (3200) would be better than buying 1 gig of corsair xms xl, im looking to be playing games like bf2, css and rainbow six lockdown at 1024x768 with most eye candy on. REALLY SMOOTHLY, (will overclock if necessary)

this is the system

500w psu
asus k8v deluxe mobo
amd athlon 64 3700+ (754)
sapphire 256mb x800 pro (AGP)
ram
1 ultra ata133 80 gig harddrive

never mind i have read the sticky and it says that the cas doesnt really matter much for gaming. is this correct

definitely go for the 2gb of value stuff over 1gb of the performance ram.

gaming is about 3 things nowdays - gfx power, cpu speed and the amount of ram.

£47 difference, the XMS have heat spreaders which cost £14 for two. So XMS is £33 more.

Upgraded to Corsair Value, 2GB runs faster than my old (lower CAS, high performance) 1GB. Works great.

That's because of the extra RAM. Take out one stick and see if there's any difference.
