hi

i've seen amd works better with some games and nvidia works better with others and would like to know if it is possible to have a amd graphics card and a nvidia graphics card in a pc and chose which one to play the game on.

thanks

Wouldn't be easier to get 2 of the same card and go for Crossfire or SLI? you will have better performance than playing a game with just one card or another

That's a really silly idea. Whilst you can have two GPUs in a PC you'd have to swap the cables to the monitor over or play on a different screen. You're better off just buying a graphics chip equal to the price of the two you wanted to buy, it'll always be faster than having two separate GPUs of different vendors.

I get where you're coming from with the Intel HD Graphics + Discrete Card in Laptops but in a desktop you would have so many driver problems and waste so much energy.

It could be possible if you were to keep switching the cables from one card to another but it is pretty pointless.

i agree, this is a silly idea.

if your worried about having low FPS in games, you mite as well get SLI or CF or spend the extra on a dual GPU card like the 7990 and GTX690
