Here's the situation. We are currently with BT Total Broadband (up to 8mbit), however I want Be Pro, as it has just come to my area.

My dad doesn't want to upgrade because a) he works for BT, and b) we are on a contract, I believe.

My question is this. Is there a way for me to purchase Be Pro, and connect to it from my computer, while the rest of the house continues to use BT?

Just curious :] Feedback much appreciated!

Yes you can.

It costs £122.33 for the additional line to be fitted and £11.50pm line rental. Then you have the broadband charge added to it so not cheap.

I had an additional line fitted as I needed it for business purposes. It took 9 days for installation.

:/ Guess I won't be doing this then.

Will have a look into the BT contract, see if we can close it and switch to Be.

I did once had second line fitted and separate broadband on it ordered, worked well but you have to pay for line instalation unfortunately.

I'd suggest cable instead. Virgin don't charge installation costs most of the time and again no line rental and if Be is being offered in your area I'm guessing you have cable avaliable.

You could try talking to BT CS and see if they'll entertain the idea of putting in a line at a reduced cost else you'll go with Virgin, worth a try TBH.

I've got 2 phone lines and 2 ADSL connections in my house, 1 that I use for my work, the other that used by the family.
