Hi folks

Just a quick question, which is hopefully a nice easy one to answer. I currently have a 20gb iPod hooked up to my PC but now my girlfriend has decided she wants a 1gb Nano!

Is it possible for us to have 2 iPods using the one PC and if so, how easy is it to go about setting it up?

Thanks

Some guy asked the same question today in John Lewis whilst i was grabbing a cover for my nano. :o

Unfortunatly i can't give you an answer because i'd already left by the time the asisstant had shown him how he could do it! :D

I'm pritty sure its possible though. :)

Thanks for the replies, so if I turn off automatic updating, is there a way iTunes will recognise which iPod is connected?

You don't need two accounts.
Both my daughters use the same PC and they plug in one after the other.
As soon as you plug one in it shows one IPOD, plug in the other and it shows that one.
oh yeah, turn automatic updating off.

If you're going to use one user account, create a playlist for each iPod and then set each iPod to automatically update only the selected playlist.

If you want to know, just ask the guy. We'd much rather walk a customer through something on a screen than answer a ton of pointless questions about "how do I do laptop".

Wouldn't it just be easier to use them both as removable drives instead? Unless the OP has to use it in Itunes? (don't actually use itunes or own an ipod lol so don't know whether it's Itunes which limits you or whatever)

use 2 xp accounts, so much easier

How is it?

If they're just sharing out the same bank of music, just turn off automatic updating, then you can put whatever you want on them without having to log out and log in.

Thanks for all the replies, got it all sorted tonight and was easy as pie! As stated, just switch off the automatic update and hey presto, you can have both connected at the same time and put different things on each one easily
