2 monitor setup

Was wondering if someone could answer a few questions for me.
I'm thinking of moving into a dual monitor setup for the first time.

1. Can my gtx580 handle 2 monitors without degrading picture quality too much?
2. My current monitor is a Samsung Syncmaster P2350 connected via DVI, would it matter if the 2nd monitor was connected via HDMI? (The graphics card has 2 DVI and 2 HDMI ports). The reason I ask is I have been looking at Samsung S23A550H 23" Widescreen Ultra Thin LED Monitor http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-159-SA&groupid=17&catid=1425&subcat= but it doesnt have a DVI port

Basically I want to use the main screen for gaming (LOTRO/ DA:O) and the second one 'other tasks' (browsing and documents).

Any help greatly appriciated

1) Any card (even onboard GPUs) can handle 2 monitors without any drop in quality.

2) Doesn't matter what combination of ports you use. DVI + HDMI will be fine.

Set them both in extended mode in Windows and it'll do what you want. Make sure you set the game in Windowed mode though, most games in fullscreen usually locks the mouse to it.
