So I'm thinking of getting a couple of new monitors for my rig, and I'm wondering what you guys think is the best 2 monitor setup.

I was thinking 2 x 22 inch widescreen monitors mounted on a dual monitor arm.

But perhaps one 22 inch widescreen and a smaller 4:3 monitor would look good.

Just interested in the sort of setups you guys have, i'm open to any ideas :)

Just to add to this

Is is strange having 2 monitors that different sizes?
I'm considering a 24 inch for my main monitor and something smaller for my other one, but not sure if this will be practical

You will find it hard to find a 4:3 monitor these day I think.

I use a 4:3 next to my 16:9 at work. It does look a little odd, but I mostly use it as a dedicated outlook monitor and occasionally test our website @ 1024x768 on it.

Cheers dude, yeah i haven't seen many about myself.
How about if I had a big monitor landscape and a smaller one portrait. What sizes would I need for them to line up properly?

I've got a 21.5" 1920x1080 Benq and an older 17" 1280x1024 LG. I like this setup at the moment, I often use the smaller screen for web browsing while gaming on the bigger screen. But being able to shift between the monitors during general use can also be nice.

Yeah I like the idea of having a large one for gaming, and a smaller one for when I'm using maya/photoshop and want to have reference pictures or outliner/layers etc on a seperate screen.

Can anyone recommend a good dual monitor arms that attach to the desk. I want one that will allow me to rotate monitors as well as reposition them easily.
