Just curious really as to whether or not it can be done, i've been playing with my old screen and new one at the same time to see if i can really compare them alongside each other but it seems easier said than done. I'm on the dodgy 8800 nvidia drivers with awkward to find settings, ive tried all combinations but i can't seem to have them cloned running...

22" samsung 226 @ 1680 x 1050
21" CRT @ 1024 x 768

anyone know how this can be done? maybe someone who's got dual lcd's set up ?

I just want them to display identically yet at diff res's! as...lcd's suck outside native res, and crt's drive me crazy above 1024 x 768 as the hz have to be dropped right down.

anyone? :)

I just tried it with 2x 1680x1050 monitors. It doesn't let you do it, I set to "clone" and in the settings where the resolution is one of the monitors is greyed out and doesn't let you select a res.

IIRC it only works if you have dual DVI connections to both screens, when I connected the HP 22" and my Dell 20" I was able to choose separate res for each screen through nvidia control panel. Not tried it in newer forcewares though.
