Hey atm i have a big corner desk, and a 19inch monitor, and a small crt tv,
What i want to do is replace both, with either 2 22 or 24 monitors or a monitor and a new Flat tv, but i dont know the best route to go down.

Id like to be able to, have pc on both screens OR have pc on one laptop on other OR have tv/dvd on one while pc is on other.

And of course theres the sound problem too, PC will use a set of Z-10s but using a monitor will mean i need to get sound for the dvd/tv input.

Im a bit obsessive to ideally id like 2 identical screens for neatness. I just have no clue of best route to go...

Well options are either

a) 2 PC monitors both connected to your computer and you could get a video card plugged into a pci slot so you could watch tv directly from your PC(and record straight to your hard drive) PC monitors normally have two inputs-VGA and DVI so your laptop could plug into the monitors VGA for when you need to use it. All of the sound will also be outputted directly from your PC so your sorted with your speaker problem, however i haven't had a capture card in years so im not too sure if the quality is up to scratch so someone else on the forum will have to help you out there

b) Buy 1 TV monitor with a VGA input and 1 PC monitor, your PC can connect to both and you can switch between PC input and TV, TV monitors have worse quality than a PC monitor however you can use your PC monitor as your primary ie use it for gaming and the like and it'd be fine

if you want to identical screens id go for option a, but im no expert so id wait for someone elses advice

I'd go for a monitor and a TV setup for the extra flexibility. You can use one DVI to the monitor and then use a DVI-HDMI converter to connect to the TV's HDMI input, no need to go down the VGA route.

A 1080p TV would also be effective for as a second PC monitor provided you weren't too close.

what about 2 of those? unless im reading it wrong there monitors with hdmi/video inputs aswell? and the stats seem comparable to normal monitors. Thats the kinda idea i origionally had, but i dont know if its suitable, im assuming as there listed as monitors they have pc inputs.

I do like the card idea, trouble is sometimes i want the tv without my pc on :) u can get monitors to use a monitor as a tv i think? not sure how good they are tho.

I think your maybe right, if i get a monitor and tv, using a DVI/HDMI converter makes sense.

But what will give Better TV/DVD veiwing a normal 1080 TV, or a monitor kinda like that one i linked above? im assuming the TV but not sure.
