how many of you have two monitors?

I've been thinking about getting a 2nd one for a while
was thinking I could use one for TV/watching movies while using web on the other

valid enough of a reason?

I think I've got two DVI ports on the back of my 9800 GT card so if I got two cables that went from DVI to HDMI is that still HD?

Yes, and yes,
I had two monitors, two 22" LG, it was very very nice, but had to sell them, just getting a single screen now, dvi to hdmi yes, still hd if has all the pins for dvi socket.
you will enjoy it very much, it is very usefull, you can use it for anything really, i sometimes played games on one, and while waiting to respawn did something else on the other. D

2 monitors is great. Whether you're monitoring resources while gaming, doing secondary tasks/keeping an eye on various ongoing processes or want to free up space on your main desktop, it's all good. And yeah, I watch the footie on the other one too so it does serve the odd justifiable use :p

I have 2 monitors; 1x19" monitor and 1x22" HDTV. Took a bit of getting used to, with the different sizes, but now I wouldn't like to go back to having to have 1 all the time.

I occasionally watch TV on the HDTV and just browse with the 19" and it just seems so small! :p Definitely recommend getting a 2nd monitor!

thanks keep em coming

I got a TV card on my machine
I've got a 22 inch samsung monitor so the decision is either to get

2 X 24inch samsungs
or
1 X32 inch tv/monitor

still unsure though.

I do some flight simming great with a 32" for outside view and a 22" for panels. Dosnt last long though as the 32" is in the front room and every one has to be out of the house so I can get my own way.

I would recomend a video card with HDMI out so you get both sound and HD picture if your using it for films. Unless your home cinema kit can take the sound from your PC. I run the HDMI through a sony setup and flight sim in surround sound is awsome. Film sound tends to break up after a while as the GPU steps down to save power (dam tree huggers) but this effects the audio stream through the HDMI not sure if ATI have fixed it yet as ive not run it in the front room since the new drivers.

I ran 2 monitors for years and still do, at work. I don't think there is ever a downside to it.

Ran with three for a bit, which is nice, but 1>2 is much much bigger than 2>3

I run 2 monitors.. one in landscape and one portrait.. comes in handy when I work xD And I do what you want to use 2 for (movies and web)

Sooooo usefull when muti document working, or even when working and having a media player/movie on the second. Was very sad when I had to give up my dual monitor setup to get my new rig.

I run a 22" Dell IPS panel and a viewsonic 19" TN panel. It does not bother me though(the qaulity of 19") as most things I display on the dell, but it is very handy to have the second monitor to display things while still seeing your full screen on the main panel.

Always have a browser/Vent open on the second screen while playing games.

Two screens are just brilliant and I will struggle to go back to one.

Yes I have 2 DVI ports on the back of my GTX280 and I use a HDMI adaptor on my 26" Samsung T260 and its still full HD (1920x1200). I also use a Viewsonic VA2216w 24" as a secondary monitor now. I have to say I can't believe I only used to use 1 single monitor, having 2 monitors is just so much better! When I'm playing games I have my MSN and browser open in my secondary screen, it really helps me get the most out of my PC.

Now when I'm on my laptop it feels so wrong to have only one 17" screen

I got a small 15" working next to my main 22". For general surfing, I have media player maximised on it for quick and easy song selection, or I'll have the football going on it (Unless it's England, then it's down to the pub or the HDTV ^^).

For gaming, I either have media player going or Hardware Monitor.

Non identical monitors here, doesn't look as great as You'd want sue to one being like an inch or two bigger so it doesn't really line up, but it was a free second monitor so no complaints, and I love having two!

I have dual setup. 20.2" and a 24". They are both different aspect ratios so the vertical heights are not much out, about 1/2-3/4 inch is all. Excellent for productivity, not much use for gaming (Unless you use multiple monitors for the game). Excellent for my business, run stock / order control software on the smaller one usually, saves swopping and clicking windows for despatch software! Saves me time.
