2 new Laptops

Hi , I am looking to buy 2 laptops for christmas

About upto £850 for 1 and £650 for the other
First one for the family to watch DVDs and internet and play game s, 2nd one for a teenager , so good graphics for Adult( which he says he never goes on

) sites and , internet
I need information about CPU`s and screen quality ,and about different graphic cards in laptops, would prefer a well know brand laptop , maybe a Toshiba or HP,etc

Any advice you give would be most appreciated or even if you could nudge me in the direction of a web site that explains all the different aspects of a laptop

Check out the Vostro thread, either the 1500 or 1700 with a 2Ghz+ Core2Duo & 8600gt card would do you fine for the higher spec one.

Vostro 1700 for the first then, and 1500 for the second

Yup vostro 1500 and 1700, you can usually haggle price down too.

Id get Toshiba or Sony myself. Well i do work for Toshiba so im a little biased.

Toshiba have some nice models though. Just remember if you get one with the shiny tops it will scratch easy.

Mrs thinks the Dell and a bit bulky for lad to carry around, does anybody know of any technical sites around that explains all the differences between graphic cards, screen quality , CPU's
