Has anyone else had to install to important updates for vista x64 systems today? Just installed mine but i have no idea what they fix/improve

I've got my update manager bouncing up and down saying there are 3 updates for vista 32 bit.

Anyone have any idea what they're for?

It's possible it might be trying to install the same update twice, that's why it could be failing.

Check the update codes and make sure.

I've just checked, they are different. The updates download and then I have a message saying the PC needs to reboot. After it reboots I get the 'configuring updates' message and then it reboots again before going into Vista where I'm told the updates didn't install correctly. it's the first updates I've had problems with so I'm at a loss as to why they haven't installed properly. I'll shall try again shortly.

 here's a handy tip....

double click the update and you get a description of the fix and a link to the related KB article. you can also do this for already installed updates by using the "view update history" option. :p

Happened to me before, just trying it again at a later time is probably best, close programs that in use as well.

I've tried to install them one at a time. KB938194 is now the only one that won't install. I've tried several times and it won't have it. Like you say martin9887 I'll have to give it a go with various programs disabled although you would think that it would be fine seeing as it reboots.

Yeah I know, but Windows never works like how you expect it to :)

Just a quick question

Does anyone know if those performance updates have been included in Windows Update yet?

Or is it still a manual download thing?
