Hi there,

I dont mean to hijack your thread my friend, but I am just trying to find out the same thing! so thought I would add my post to yours instead of making a new thread....

I also am looking for a sound card that has 2 outputs so i can use one for the monitor/cue when i am mixing between ableton and the decks. I have been looking into the M-audio or EMU cards as well as the creative range.
I was originally considering getting one of the the livedrive/X-fi cards but from what I am reading they seem to have some quite big issue's with Vista at the moment.

Anyone got any suggestions?? Also i hear about the prelude and xonar (I think) which seem better for gaming but maybe they also have the capability to be a good audio/dj soundcard?

i dont need mine for the monitor/cue functions but im sure u can use 2 sound cards for that depending on which programs your using?

looks like ive just found an old soundblaster card which is working lol but i need to config it so fingers crossed, if not i think ill be looking for a better card lol

I'm using ableton and I have decided I think.. to get the 'M-audio Audiophile 192'
card. It has 4 ins and 4 outs so solves all the problems including avoiding 'creative' stuff, wich seems to be very unstable with windows vista.

Good luck with the soundblaster you found!

I am just going to try something someone mentioned in another thread. To get my output going to the PC speakers and also to the headphones as monitor and still beable to plug in the decks..

If it works then maybe you can use the same method to get your output going to your pc speakers and your hi-fi... not to sure yet, it's been a while since i had my setup working properly so i am a little unsure of what goes where lol... I will have a go and when my memory comes back I will let you know if there is anything you might beable to do :)

Just to be sure what you were saying...

Output - PC Speakers
Output - HiFi
Input - Mic
Input - Mixer-->Decks

??? Am I getting the right idea..?

yes thats correct, this soundblaster card is crap!!! lol

pc speakers are ok on normal out, but seems one of the outs is only 1 speaker and not 2 and thats in 2 and 4 speaker mode nothing so its not in 5.1 but seems like it wants to?? lol i dunno but yeah seems like i need a new sound card but aint a clue what i need and wats easiest to config... I remember an onboard card i use to have where the software let u choose which u wanted so i could have say 2 outs and 1 in!!! and then swap around as and when i liked :(

anyone knowing any more info before i just buy anything to try and get it to work lol

could you not just split the single line output to go to your hifi and speakers with a splitter?

if not then i'm fairly sure most soundcards allow you to output to the line out and spdif/optical connection (assuming your pc speakers or hifi have a spdif or optical input on them
