I'll start by saying, last week my girlfriend has dyed her hair blonde. She can't help it. 
Yesterday we finally managed to go and collect her new car. We live on a residents only parking street. She has got a temporary permit till we get the V5 back, so we should be all sorted. She parked outside after work yesterday evening, and thats the last time we went out before going to work this morning.
She gets to her car this morning to find two parking tickets.
It turns out the bottom 1/4 of the permit wasn't fully visible from the screen, so they must have given the tickets for that. 
They've given her one ticket at 18:53 yesterday evening and another ticket at 7am this morining! 
I've told her to write to them showing that she has a valid parking permit and at least attempt to get off it. If anything to have one of the tickets cancelled.
It just seems well harsh not to give someone the opportunity to rectify the problem, or to give someone the benefit of the doubt that the parking permit was valid. Considering its the first time the car was ever parked on the street.
