I got fibre optic b'band installed today, and as I now have a router spare, decided to improve my wifi coverage by installing the second router upstairs.

I've set them both to the same ssid, same authentication, same password etc, but it's not quite working right. On my mobile the internet will work for a short period, before cutting out. Only disabling then re-enabling the wireless will get it working again.

Im using channels 1 & 7, with the dhcp ip address being 192.168.1.1, then the second router being 192.168.1.10

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

You need to make sure that the ip of the 2nd router is outside the DHCP range of the 1st one. E.g. In my setup my main router issues ips from 192.168.1.20 upwards, I have the secondary router fixed as 192.168.1.13
