I have 2 PC's side by side, using one for gaming and one for everything else. Currently I have 2 mice and 2 keyboards both of which are somewhat tatty and worn out and need replacing. So there I am about to order a Gaming Keyboard and Gaming Mouse and then a separate set for the second PC and had a brainwave.....I think you can see where this is going.

So, I want a Razzer Mamba and one of the Logitech Gaming Keyboards and thought "wouldn't it be great if I could share these between my 2 PC's!" So then, how can I make this easy, can I get some sort of switching box and secondly while I am on it is there also a DVI switch so I can share the 1 port on the back of my Dell 24" with the 2 PC's and then plug my XBox 360 into the VGA port as presently I have to unplug and replug and it's a pain.

Any ideas chaps?

It's called a kvm for keyboard-video-mouse. You can get ones for usb or ps/2, and can also get ones which only switch video though these seem to be harder to find.

They work pretty much as you'd expect them so, I suspect the internal wiring to be very simple.

edit: apparently they used to be simple, now they emulate signals to prevent computers refusing to boot etc. Wiki
