enough apparently....
So I fitted a Sony Floppy disk drive into my new machine just now and when I switched my pc back on it loads the initial bios bootscreen and then displays "checking nvram" then goes to a black screen with a cusor line that just flashes and wont boot into XP.
When i fitted the new drive I added a new psu --> Molex power connector.
This molex split off into 2 smaller power connections. I then plugged one of these smaller connections into the back of the floppy. I then plugged the floppy drive controller from the drive to the motherboard.
I am certain I have installed correctly but it does not boot.
The only other thing I have done is moved a couple of SATA cables around for better fit, but this shouldnt effect the bootup should it??? I thought Sata allowed you to simply plug in and out without worry. Or once a hard drive/cdrom drive are plugged into a sata drive should you not move them?
any ideas as to why this is happening would be appreciated.
Thanks
Nick
