I am looking for a game that a friend & I can play for a few hours once a week.

Thinking on the lines of a Real Time Strategy or Turn Based Strategy.

Working as a team against AI or against each other

We would like better to be able to work as a team against AI

Must be able to save the game & start at the same point a week later

Ones I have been thinking of are

Company of Heroes
R.U.S.E
Civilization (New one out soon)

But I am not sure if you can play as a team against AI with any of the above.

via the same computer with both of you in teh same room, or over the internet together?
company of heroes lets you gang up on the AI. alien swarm is also worth a look and worms is just a classic :)

@ GuRkHa Worms ! Did not think about that one for some chilling out fun.

@ Kieves1 as it would make a change from playing against each other all the time.

@ Anominity But can 2 players play against AI with Civ.

Was thinking of a MMO & go around as a pair doing the quests but it's a bit to easy doing it like that.

Don't want a FPS there's also borderlands but i am looking for something with abit of depth to it also hard if it can be 2 v the AI.

Going to post on the Civ forums later to ask if it can be 2 V AI.

any rts can be played with a friend against ai pretty much in sandbox mode :)

Have a look at league of legends.Thats free and fun .There is a thread in this forum on it :)

I will try Alien swarm as it's free so nothing to lose.

League of legends looks good going by the srceen shots I will hunt out the thread about it.

Also there is still Worms.

Don't realy like Command & Conquer played the early ones loads so gone over load on them

I have Company of Heroes got them all cheap in steam sales but never played them so will look in to the 2 v AI

Are there any decent versions of chess that you can play online - I used to play with my dad over Messenger. That was I while back and we stopped as IIRC you had to start paying for it...

I am on Company Of Heroes pretty much every night with my mates, usually with us (up to 4) against the AI!! :D

Fantastic game!!!

Hehe I was thinking of chess but wanted something new age :)

StevieP - Sounds good is it easy to start a game with your mates ?

Thinking a RTS would be better now then a turn based one then you don't have to wait for the other player to make there moves.

Going to fire up Company Of Heroes, was one of those games that I wanted to play when it first came out but video card did not support it at the time, i think it has aged very well.

Now thats the million dollar question!!! :p

In theory its dead easy - multiplayer, host game, invite, done.....

In practice it can be a nightmare!!! It seems completely random as to whether it lets you connect due to a "NAT Negotiation Failure"!?!?!? We've had a lot more joy recently since we started clearing the CoH cache if it fails to connect!

Google it and you will see hundreds of threads about connection problems, even when playing through Steam!

ps. If you have the choice - do play through Steam otherwise you will spend the next year of your life downloading and applying a multitude of patches for the retail version!

@ Kieves1 thanks downloading now I looked on steam first & it did not show the free version so thought I had to pay, but then looked on the LoL website & got the free downlaod @ 95% now.

@ StevieP I got mine from steam the Company of Heroes Complete Pack.

One more Question if we play online does having the Company of Heroes Complete Pack let you play more maps or is there plenty of maps to play with the first Company of Heroes ?

Thanks
